Nordic Examiner/Clinician Staff

The cross country and telemark examiner/clinician staff consists of Level 3 members in good standing who maintain a high level of skiing and teaching competence, and are motivated to share their expertise with the membership.

There is no formal tryout for becoming a member of the staff. Qualified applicants must attend the training day specific to their discipline each season. One training day for cross country, and one for telemark, is scheduled annually immediately prior to the Nordic fall symposium. Work assignments will be made at the sole discretion of the chief examiner. Prospective staff members must generally shadow at least one event prior to working that event. For example, to conduct a Level 1 Prep the staff member must first shadow a Level 1 Prep. Typically new members lead clinics before being assigned to conduct exam preps and exams.

Factors considered in making work assignments include: experience, personal skills (teaching, skiing, examining), commitment to the industry, reliability, initiative, and participant feedback. Current and prospective staff members are encouraged to communicate with the chief examiner for feedback in regard to these factors.
